Distinguished Delta Zetas
Princess Martha of Sweden: During a tour to the US to see the country and meet President Roosevelt, Märtha was initiated into the Delta Zeta sorority. She and her lady-in-waiting were pinned at the University of North Dakota, at an initiation service presided over by Delta Zeta national president Myrtle Graeter Malott.
Ivy Baker Priest was the United States Treasurer under President Dwight Eisenhower. Her daughter, Pat Priest, also pledged Delta Zeta and was best known for portraying Marilyn Munster on the television show, The Munsters. She also starred in Bewitched, Perry Mason, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show and filmed Easy Come, Easy Go with Elvis Presley.
Kay Yow was the head coach of the NC State Wolfpack women's basketball team from 1975 to 2009. A member of the Naismith Hall of Fame, she had more than 700 career wins. She also coached the U.S. women's basketball team to an Olympic gold medal in 1988 despite having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. In April 2010, CollegeInsider.com created a new award called the Kay Yow National Coach of the Year Award in her honor. It will be presented annually to the women's college basketball head coach who displays great personal character on and off the court.
Marcia Wallace is the voice of Edna Krabappel on the animated series The Simpsons, for which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance in 1992. Wallace was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1985, after which she became an activist and lecturer on the subject. On January 27, 2007, Wallace won the Gilda Radner Courage Award from Roswell Park Cancer Institute for helping educate Americans about the importance of early cancer detection and inspiring others through her 20 years as a breast cancer survivor. Marcia was named the 2009 Delta Zeta Woman of the Year at the 2010 Delta Zeta National Convention.
Melissa Ordway is a sister from Georgia State University who is known for her roles in television shows such as Entourage and How I Met Your Mother. Within a year of pursuing a modeling career Ordway had worked for Old Navy, Fabrizio Gianni, David's Bridal, Anchor Blue and Tillys; she had also graced the cover Los Angeles Weddings Magazine, Grand Sierra Magazine and Hona Hou Magazine.
Nanette Fabray is a Tony and Emmy Award winning actress. Fabray overcame a significant hearing impairment to pursue her career and has been a long-time advocate for the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing. Her honors representing the handicapped include the President's Distinguished Service Award and the Eleanor Roosevelt Humanitarian Award.
Maurine Brown Neuberger was an American Senator for the State of Oregon from November 1960 to January 1967. She was the fourth woman elected to the United States Senate and the tenth woman to serve in the body. She and her husband, Richard L. Neuberger, are regarded as the United States' first husband-wife Senate legislative team. To date, she is the only woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Oregon.

Mercedes Bates was the first woman corporate officer of General Mills and pledged Delta Zeta at the University of Oregon; Ms. Bates was often referred to as “Betty Crocker” as she was the Vice President in Charge of the Betty Crocker Division; She was President of the American Home Economics Association and its foundation and was the 1970 Delta Zeta Woman of the Year.
Arlene Davis, Baldwin-Wallace College; distinguished aviatrix; honored as Woman of the Year in Aviation in 1953 by the Women’s National Aeronautic Association; one of the first members of the Air Force Jet Clan; the first woman to receive the National Aeronautics Association’s “Certificate of Elder Statesman of Aviation” in 1961; was named Delta Zeta Woman of the Year in 1960.
Mary Vincent, Northern Kentucky University; founded several startup ventures, all with the goal of reducing climate emissions. They include: Green Star Solution, a strategic business and media consultancy firm, and Gratitude Gourmet, a sustainable food media site. She co-founded the Green Software Unconference and writes about green business and technology thought leaders on her blog.
